OneCloud connects to Workday via the REST API. To automate Workday functionality with OneCloud, you’ll need to navigate to the connection manager to create a connection.
From here, choose Workiva from the service drop-down and select the appropriate Runner. Now, enter values for the following fields:
You will need to create a Wdesk user, or users, that will be used for the integration. You do this by: creating an OAuth2 grant associated with the Wdesk integration user so that any calls using the API will be done on behalf of that user and any historical edits to a Wdesk document will show as being made by the user that is associated with the OAuth2 grant. APIs will respect user permissions, so you will need to ensure that the provided user has appropriate access to the data that you’d like to integrate with.
Workiva has stipulated a best practice to create a unique user for each integration. This will help make it more clear which changes were made by each integration and will allow you to limit the scope of access for each integration to only the documents appropriate for that integration. For details on creating an integration user, please follow Workiva’s setup guide: https://success.workiva.com/developers/guides/setup
|ID||TextField||The randomly generated ID in your OAuth2 Grant that is used to identify the integration user|
|Secret||TextField||The randomly generated Secret in your OAuth2 Grant that is used to authenticate the integration user|
To test the connection, simply create a new OneCloud Chain with a simple command such as List Views
The following is an example of a working connection. Please substitute your own values.
