Configure your OneCloud Workspace

The following steps can be adjusted to suit your requirements but should provide a good framework to setup OneCloud to work in various situations.

A note about the examples

The following examples start from a new OneCloud tenant. If you have already been using OneCloud, then the sample screenshots and videos may deviate from what you see in your OneCloud environment.

Step 1: Edit your Workspace

Login to your OneCloud tenant and edit your Workspaces with the following changes:

  1. Change the OneCloud Workspace name to "Learning OneCloud".
  2. Save the change.

  3. Create OneCloud Workspace variables to hold values that you will reuse in various OneCloud areas in the Workspace. Click the Add Variable button and set the Name to "date-type".
  4. Save the change.

Step 2: Create a PROD Environment

  1. Add a new OneCloud Environment that will be dedicated to run production-only operations.
  2. Set the environment color of your choice.
  3. Save the change.

Step 3: Update the Environment Variables

  1. This is an area where you can override OneCloud Workspace variables and set the proper value based on the environment. Edit the “DEV” environment and set the “data-type” variable to “dev-data”.
  2. Save the change.
  3. Edit the “PROD” environment and set the “data-type” variable to “prod-data”.
  4. Save the change.

Step 4: Switch between Environment

  1. Use the environment switcher to quickly switch between environments.
